Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 through SCP-XXXX-11 and their components are to be kept in a 1x1m soundproof, sealed lock box at site XX's storage facillity. Warnings of the anomolous effects of SCP insances are to be clearly labled across all sides of the lock box. One instance of SCP-XXXX (SCP-XXXX-12) is to kept in a dedicated 30x30x10m chamber and kept directly in the centre of the area. Personal handiling SCP-XXXX-12 are to wear noise cancelling ear phones and may only communicate through pre-defined hand signals. SCP-XXXX-12's area of effect is to be clearly marked across the chamber floor in a 14.21m diametre circle. Personal monitoring testing from outside the chamber may only observe through sound-proof glass or recording systems without audio with filtered audio tracks.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a collection of 12 outdoor loudspeakers in various states of disrepair. SCP-XXXX are of identical make to ██████ model loudspeakers, discontinued by the now defunct ████ company. Serial numbers also match the loudspeakers bought, shipped and installed at the recovery location. A signal box was also recovered, connected to all 12 SCP instances, however all 12 instances of SCP-XXXX will continue to transmit without connection to the signal box.1 Dissasembaly of seperate SCP-XXXX instances has provided little results to find the source of it's effects, as the interior of all 12 loudspeakers match their commerical counterparts. However, it should be noted that 4 instances, upon, recovery, were in such disrepair they should no longer be able to function. Further research has shown that SCP-XXXX instances will still transmit sound when completely dissasembled or damaged. SCP-XXXX does not require any source of power to function.
The following are the results of Dr. ██████'s tests to measure the strength of SCP-XXXX's memetic effect.
SCP-XXXX was recovered from St. ██████'█ Secondary College. SCP-XXXX was reported to the local police force by school faculty after several students reported "Loud alarms followed by strange and very personal announcements" eminating from SCP-XXXX. These announcements were reportedly the cause of the suicide of ██ year old █████ ██████, as described by a note left at the site of her death. SCP personal, under the cover of a local maintenance service, replaced SCP-XXXX instances with commercial loudspeakers of indentical make and wear. Students and faculty aware of SCP-XXXX's effects were administered level C amnesiacs and █████ ██████'s suicide note has been altered to remove all referrence to SCP-XXXX.
