Item #: SCP-XXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is to be kept in a locked safe in Site █. All access to SCP-XXX must be approved by a staff member with Level 3 clearance.
Description: SCP-XXX is a bracelet 17 cm in length. Testing has determined it to be composed of a copper alloy similar to brass. The words “For Justine” are engraved in cursive near the clip.
SCP-XXX does not appear to display anomalous properties unless worn for at least seven (7) seconds. After a subject wears SCP-XXX for more than seven seconds, its effects will begin regardless of the subject having continued contact with the object or not. Following exposure, SCP-XXX’s abnormal characteristics will manifest in the subject in two distinct, sequential phases. Where SCP-XXX is initially worn on the body does not have any significant influence on this process.
- Phase 1: Over a period of 9-14 days, the subject becomes progressively less and less responsive to light and visual stimuli. Subjects have difficulty passing basic vision tests and navigating around obstacles by sight. Subjects in phase 1 frequently voice complaints that it is “too dark” and require incrementally greater and greater luminous intensities to be able to see. Ultimately, the subject becomes completely blind, at which point phase 2 immediately begins.
- Phase 2: Subjects entering phase 2 begin to report auditory and tactile hallucinations. Subjects tend to exhibit a marked increase in paranoia and anxiety, even those with no history of mental disorder. Subjects become convinced that they are being followed or “stalked,” and report hearing noises such as footsteps, scratching sounds, and [DATA EXPUNGED]. 3-4 days into phase 2, subjects experience spontaneous bleeding. Lacerations appear on all parts of the body, beginning with small wounds at approximately 40 second intervals, then rapidly increasing in frequency and severity. This is invariably fatal; in all recorded cases subjects are stripped to the bone in under █ minutes. The flesh is not merely torn off, but seems to disappear entirely. Investigation as to where it goes has proven inconclusive.

Interview Log xxx
Interviewed: D-35436
Interviewer: Dr. █████
Foreword: Interview conducted about two weeks after D-35436 was exposed to SCP-XXX. D-35436 was in phase 2 of SCP-XXX’s effects.
<Begin Log>
Dr. █████: Hello, I am Dr. █████. How are you feeling?
D-35436: …Is that supposed to be some sort of joke?
Dr. █████: Please state how many fingers I am currently holding up.
D-35436: Look, I told you already, I can’t see shit.
Dr. █████: I see. And how is your psychological condition?
D-35456: My condition? Well, I’m totally blind, for one, and – did you hear that?
Dr. █████: I heard nothing except for your voice.
D-35456: Okay, cut the crap, doc. What’d you set loose in here?
Dr. █████: I can assure you, D-35436, this room is empty save for you and I.
D-35436: Oh god… I can feel its breath on my neck.
D-35436 gets up from his chair, looking about frantically.
Dr. █████: Please, calm down.
D-35436: You have to help me! I can’t even see the damn things, how can I – agh! It bit me!
D-35436 holds his hand up. His finger is bleeding. Suddenly, he falls to the floor.
D-35436: Help! Help! It’s trying to [REDACTED].
Dr. █████: …Jesus Christ…<End Log>
Closing Statement: After detailed analysis of video from interview xxx and questioning of Dr. █████, it has been noted that the wounds appearing on D-35436's corpse (before all soft tissues fully vanished) show considerable resemblance to bite marks from [DATA EXPUNGED].

Item #: SCP-XXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is to be housed in a 5 by 5 by 2.5 meter cell that is completely watertight and is capable of being filled and drained via an installed pumping system. During its parasitic stage, SCP-XXX will be contained in one (1) domestic pig of no less than 54 kg. During this phase, SCP-XXX's host is to be fed regularly and otherwise treated as a normal animal. After two (2) months time since initiation of the parasitic stage, the containment cell will be flooded with 40 cm of water and SCP-XXX will be allowed to enter its aquatic stage. The body of its former host will be incinerated. After four (4) months, another domestic pig meeting the same specifications will be placed into the inundated cell. Upon successful infection, the water will be drained and boiled three (3) times at no less than 200°C before being disposed of.
All individuals who experience direct contact will SCP-XXX or its containment area will be analyzed with X-ray radiography after leaving in light of Incident A, personnel suspected of exposure to SCP-XXX will be quarantined for no less than two (2) weeks, during which time they will receive full body X-ray scans every 48 hours. Those infected will be monitored until SCP-XXX exits its parasitic phase terminated (see Addendum XXX-04).
Description: SCP-XXX is an Osteichthyes class fish, during its aquatic phase virtually indistinguishable from other related fishes, except for a tendency toward aggression. However, only adolescent and adult instances of SCP-XXX have been observed outside of a living host; juveniles are obligate parasites. The fish infects the circulatory system of its host, absorbing oxygen and nutrients directly from the host's blood. Once in the bloodstream, instances grow from less than a millimeter in diameter to many times their original size, the largest recorded specimen being 2.1 cm in diameter (extracted from the hosts' aorta). The way SCP-XXX initially establishes an infection is not clear, however, it is theorized that its tiny eggs enter the bloodstream through cuts and lacerations on the subject's flesh, which would explain its aggressive tendencies. It has been known to parasitize a number of large mammals, including goats, sheep, humans, █████████, and pigs.
Subjects parasitized by SCP-XXX often experience fatigue, weight loss, and increased appetite. Further, many subjects effected will report "fluttering" or "squirming" sensations inside their body. Nevertheless, it must be noted that a significant portion of those infected experience no noticeable symptoms until the parasite has matured to the end of its parasitic stage. Once the fish have matured within a host for 6-9 weeks, they will be ready to enter their aquatic stage. SCP-XXX will generally wait for its host to be contacting or surrounded by a significant amount of liquid water (SCP-XXX's mechanism for detecting water outside the hosts' body is under investigation, see Document ██████). When the host contacts water, all mature instances of SCP-XXX will forcibly expel themselves from the hosts body, using their teeth to cut through blood vessels and epethelium. Subjects will sustain anywhere from minor injury to severe blood loss and death, depending on the location and severity of infection.
It is important to mention that a small but notable portion of subjects will experience a secondary stage of infection. In these individuals, SCP-XXX will travel up the carotid artery, at which point [REDACTED].
Addendum XXX-01: Experiment Log XXX-17
Subject: D-67313
Procedure: D-67313 was deliberately exposed to SCP-XXX. Subject was observed for two months, then placed in a pool of water.
Results: SCP-XXX exited the subject's body in the usual fashion. Subject experienced minor internal and external bleeding. Wounds were treated and subject made a full recovery.
Addendum XXX-02: Incident A
Unknown to any Foundation staff at the time, Agent ██████ was exposed to SCP-XXX and the infection progressed unchecked for at least 6 weeks (it is hypothesized that Agent ██████ was initially infected via a small cut on the inside of his lip). SCP-XXX exited his body without warning while he was taking a shower in facilities at Site ██. Although medical attention was given almost immediately, the hemorrhaging proved too extensive and Agent ██████ died within the hour.
Addendum XXX-03: Experiment Log XXX-24
Subject: D-23094
Procedure: D-23094 was deliberately exposed to SCP-XXX and kept within an MRI machine in order to observe SCP-XXX traveling up the carotid artery and into the brain. Subject was kept away from large amounts of water to ensure SCP-XXX was retained within the subject's body.
Results: [DATA EXPUNGED]
Note: Human testing is prohibited henceforth.
Addendum XXX-04: Incident B
Dr. █████, who had been head of the research team studying SCP-XXX, was theorized to have been exposed to the organism unknowingly between ██/██/██ and ██/██/██, after which the infection progressed to his brain. The resulting containment breach released SCP-███, SCP-████, and SCP-███, costing the lives of ██ staff members. The escaped SCP were eventually able to be recontained.
Item: SCP-XXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is to be kept in a secure containment locker in Site ██. All testing must be approved by Level 3 staff or higher.
Description: SCP-XXX is a cylindrical metal chamber composed of an unknown alloy determined to be roughly 96% iron. During its "standby" phase, SCP-XXX is inactive and its top cover will be open, granting access to the interior; however, the inside is consistently found to be empty during the "standby" period. If at any point a human tissue sample is placed inside the chamber, such as a buccal scraping, or a sample of blood, saliva or [REDACTED], SCP-XXX will close and enter its "locked" phase. All attempts to open or otherwise access the interior of SCP-XXX during its "locked" phase have proven unsuccessful. Attempts to place cameras or other devices inside SCP-XXX to observe the inside during the "locked" phase have also failed; it appears that the item will not close and lock if there is any inorganic material inside the chamber. Three (3) months after the initiation of the "locked" phase, the chamber will reopen and produce a human infant genetically identical to the sample donor. The products of SCP-XXX, hereby referred to as SCP-XXX-1, in the majority of all cases will develop normally and be indistinguishable from a naturally born human.
Nonetheless, in a small portion of cases (about █%), instances of SCP-XXX-1 will be born with marked defects. Recorded defects include SCP-XXX-1 being born with abnormal numbers of limbs, being born without skin, being born with the █████████ system positioned outside of the body, and potentially dangerous deviations in [DATA EXPUNGED] coupled with a significant increase in aggression. Most notably, one instance of SCP-XXX-1 was discovered to be emitting a remarkably high level of gamma radiation, forcing the immediate vicinity to be evacuated.

Personnel Involved: Agent S████, Agent F███
Date: ██/██/████
Location: ███████, Austria
Description: Following up on reports of anomalous activity in the area, Agents S████ and F███ were dispatched to the town of ███████, Austria. Upon arrival, it became apparent that a local resident ( ██████ █████, formerly a traveling salesman) had spontaneously transformed into a large, unidentified organism resembling an insect. The subject has a hard, though not impenetrable exoskeleton and displays anatomical segmentation similar to that of an arthropod. Notably, the subject appears to have retained most of the cognitive capacity and memories of his previous human form. The subject is capable of vocalizing, however his vocalizations have thus far been impossible to translate into recognizable speech; it is theorized the subject no longer possesses the necessary oral and laryngeal structure to produce human speech. An apple is lodged into the dorsal portion of the subjects exoskeleton (upon investigation, determined to be the result of a violent incident with the subject's father), causing it significant ailment. Researchers are working to determine whether or nor the apple can be removed without causing further injury.
The subject's family and several other witnesses have been dosed with class B amnesiacs. The organism is currently under containment, awaiting classification.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is to be kept in a secure containment locker in Site ██. Only staff with security clearance level 3 or higher are authorized to access SCP-XXX at any time. The duplication or transcription of SCP-XXX or its contents is strictly prohibited; all complete or partial copies of the item are to be immediately destroyed.
Description: SCP-XXX is a text, ███ pages in length, that describes in explicit detail a previously unknown method of psychological conditioning. Specifically, the book explains how to make a subject susceptible to a predetermined "trigger word" via method of [DATA EXPUNGED]. Once the conditioning is complete, any time the subject hears or reads the "trigger word" they will lapse into a catatonic state for 3-6 minutes, during which the subject experiences stupor, hypotonia, and highly increased suggestibility. Notably, successful conditioning will result in the subject being unable to remember the conditioning process, nor will they remember any trigger-induced catatonic episodes. The text emphasizes that the procedure is most effective if the subject is conditioned during early childhood, preferably 4-7 years of age.
Testing on D-class personnel following the procedures outlined in SCP-XXX has been effective in ██% of subjects; it is hypothesized that the success rate would be much higher if implemented on children rather than adults. Subjects were conditioned to respond to the word "kestrel" - subjects would enter the catatonic state whenever the word "kestrel" was spoken or shown to them in writing, though they did not appear to be affected by pictures or descriptions of kestrel species so long as the name was not uttered. During catatonia, subjects did not appear to respond to visual, auditory, or tactile stimuli, and upon questioning after awakening subjects uniformly claimed to be unaware that any unusual events had transpired. However, subjects displayed a strong tendency to act upon suggestions posed to them while under catatonia; test subjects ordered to lie down, hop on one foot, or recite nursery rhymes would begin to to so upon awakening. If their behavior was pointed out to them, they would cease, but be unable to explain why they had acted in the manner they did (often causing confusion and prompting rationalizations). It should be remarked that subjects ordered to perform more extreme actions, such as "kill your fellow test subjects" or "commit suicide," would not be acted upon by individuals with no histories of violent or self-destructive behavior, though subjects ordered to preform these actions would often display signs of agitation or anxiety that when asked, they could not explain the source of. Propositions for possible applications of techniques described in SCP-XXX outside of testing are currently under consideration.
Addendum 01: A brief handwritten note is inscribed on the inside back cover of SCP-XXX, reading "You should really be careful whom you trust with your children," followed by the word [REDACTED]. The word [REDACTED] appears to be an example of a conditioned trigger word, though in what circumstances the word has been used and by whom is unknown. Most notably, preliminary research has estimated that roughly 8█% of the general population of ███ ██████ ██████ reacts to hearing or reading the word [REDACTED] by entering the aforementioned trance state associated with SCP-XXX's conditioning. It is currently unknown how many personnel inside the Foundation itself are susceptible; whether this constitutes a containment breach is undecided. Request for upgrading SCP-XXX's status to Euclid is pending.

Item #: SCP-XXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is to be kept in a locked safe in Site █. Any unauthorized usage of SCP-XXX by any individual is to be considered a level 2 security breach.
Description: SCP-XXX is a bracelet 17 cm in length. Testing has determined it to be composed of a copper alloy similar to brass. When worn, the item appears to grant the wearer a weak form of telepathy. When subjects wearing SCP-XXX were asked to read the mind of an individual directly in front of them who was concentrating on a random integer between 1 and 10, subjects guessed correctly approximately 68% of the time. Subjects had a much higher success rate when asked to read others' emotions - subjects wearing SCP-XXX were almost always able to correctly determine the emotional states of individuals near them. Further, subjects under the effects of SCP-XXX generally displayed a marked increase in pro-social behavior, a strong aversion towards violence, and extreme reluctance to inflict harm upon others.
The spatial range of the subject's abilities tends to increase as a function of the time the subject has been wearing SCP-XXX. Initially, subjects are only able to telepathically access individuals positioned within 5 meters of them. However, with continued usage this radius expands; within a few days subjects are able to access the minds of individuals several kilometers away. The exact rate at which this radius expands and its upper limits have been extremely difficult to determine (see addenda). The ability begins to gradually fade when the subject stops wearing SCP-XXX. The time required for all noticeable symptoms of SCP-XXX to vanish is usually 2-3 times the duration that the subject had worn the item. Authorization to implement SCP-XXX in reconnaissance operations pending approval. Permission denied.
Addendum: Experiment Log XXX-03
Date:██/██/██
Description: D-10897, a Caucasian male previously convicted of serial murder, wore SCP-XXX as part of the testing protocol. D-10897 was provided with one (1) stainless steel scalpel and instructed to open the abdominal cavity of a restrained and immobile D-32248. D-10897 refused; he was recorded saying "He's scared, can't you see that? He's terrified and miserable. Why would you want me to…. I just can't." When threatened with termination, D-10897 made a small incision on D-32248's abdomen, then suddenly dropped the scalpel and refused to comply any further. D-10897 was moved to an isolated containment cell with no visual or auditory access to D-10897. As agents proceeded to break apart the sternum of D-32248 in the other room, D-10897 began screaming, saying "I can feel the blade on my skin, I feel them cutting into [indecipherable]"
Addendum: Experiment Log XXX-05
Date:██/██/██
Description: D-59071 was given SCP-XXX to wear, locked in an isolated containment cell and placed under 24 hour surveillance For the first 3 days, the subject displayed no abnormal behavior until at 81 hours and 30 minutes the subject promptly vomited and began weeping uncontrollably. Upon questioning, D-59071 was able to give a highly detailed description of [DATA EXPUNGED]. Researchers are currently attempting to determine how much more classified information D-59071 was able to attain knowledge of.
Addendum: Experiment Log XXX-09
Date:██/██/██
Description: D-64286 was given SCP-XXX to wear and locked in an isolated containment cell for an extended period of time to determine the upper limits of SCP-XXX's range. Within a 76 hours the subject began to visibly display symptoms of acute anxiety; subject began pacing and developed nervous tics. At 120 hours the subject assumed a fetal position in the corner of his cell and remained motionless for an extended period, until at 146 hours the subject began to violently bang his head against the walls, causing bleeding. D-64286 was restrained to prevent further self-injury. The subject began speaking in a mostly incoherent manner, the only words that could be picked out being "starving," "burning," "so many of them," and "please." Despite intravenous life support, the subject expired at 231 hours; the exact cause of D-64286's death is still under investigation.
