Special Containment Procedures: The chamber containing SCP-XXX is constructed from layers of grounded metal mesh to prevent any electromagnetic waves from entering or leaving the chamber.
SCP-XXX is not allowed to leave the containment chamber under any circumstances unless being transported in a cart specially constructed to block and contain electromagnetic waves. Once nightly, 2 armed security personnel are to deliver a laptop computer (Completely incapable of Internet access) loaded with various media selections. This is considered a reward for good behavior. Power to both the containment chamber and observation room's lighting and electronics is to be supplied from nearby generators exclusive to both the containment chamber and the observation room. One CCTV camera connecting to the observation room is to be active at all times. Any interference with the camera or generators will result in the withholding of nightly electronic stimuli.
Sedatives are to be applied as needed.
Description: SCP-XXX is a Caucasian male of around 19 years of age. He has demonstrated on multiple occasions to be able to manipulate and/or communicate with electronic devices including televisions, computers, cellular phones, portable music players, as well as numerous other devices. Testing of his abilities have shown he is not only able to have “conversations” with devices, but is able to manipulate their electric currents. Testing has shown that shown that the effective range of this ability is 5.9 meters and that standard Faraday cages are effective in blocking communications.
Contact with electronic devices has grown in to an addiction for the subject and the withholding of electronic devices will cause him to exhibit withdrawal symptoms including near constant shivering, severe insomnia, night terrors, and attempts at self harm. When the subject is a allowed a laptop after periods of withdrawal he can often be observed holding it in a fetal position in the corner of his cell, speaking softly to it, referring to it as “mother”.
Recovery Log: SCP-XXX first came to attention of the foundation when he was arrested by the █████████ Police Department as a suspect in a string of ATM robberies. Approximately two (2) hours after incarceration the police station lost all power and, upon inspection, it was revealed that the backup generator had been irreparably damaged. SCP-XXX's existence was brought to the attention of nearby agents when the local newspaper did a report on the recent “power surge”.
