Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Any samples of SCP-XXXX are to be contained in hazardous sample storage unit #21 in Sector-07's infectious disease ward. Subjects infected with SCP-XXXX are to be individually contained in single-room quarantine cells, provided with bedding, a toilet, and three (3) meals per day. In the final stage of infection, subjects are to be subdued with anesthetic gas and their cells are to be cleaned on a weekly basis. Any personnel entering a subject's cell or otherwise interacting with infected subjects are to do so only while wearing armored hazardous materials suits, as to avoid infection and/or injury from attack. Should a subject grow to a point of no longer fitting its cell, said subject is to be terminated and incinerated. As of ██/██/████, there are currently ██ subjects in possession of the Foundation.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an air-borne, acutely-transforming, carcinogenic virus, which causes tumors to rapidly develop at random locations on the body of those infected. These tumors are benign, posing absolutely no physical threat to the infected subject. However, said tumors have the unusual quality of creating tissues such as tendons, muscles, blood vessels, bones, etc., which connect with any similar tissue that was already a part of the infected subject. In addition, these tumors have a high tendency to systematically form into fully-functional arms, and occasionally legs.
There are three (3) stages of infection in SCP-XXXX:
The first stage of infection lasts from the initial infection to a maximum of 7 weeks. During this time, ten (10) to twenty (20) tumors will begin to develop on the subject, and usually about 5 will grow into whole, functioning limbs. Subjects have the same mental capabilities as they did prior to infection during this stage, and tend to use their new arms very little, as they are not yet used to having them.
The second stage of infection tends to last between two (2) to three (3) months. During this time, no more tumors will begin to grow off of the subject's body, and thus all present tumors will develop into whole limbs. Subjects will go into a catatonic state, and remain this way for the entire duration of the second stage.
All research thus far suggests that the third stage of infection continues until the subject is deceased. Tumors already present on the subject will begin to grow other tumors, resulting in limbs branching off of limbs. In addition, some other small body parts will begin to develop on the original tumors, such as eyes, ears and teeth. It is unknown whether or not these smaller body parts are at all functional for perception, but some have responded to stimuli. After waking from their catatonic state, subjects will become hostile and unreasonable, attacking any living thing human individual they see. See Experiment Log XXXX-1. Should subjects get a hold of said living thing, they will [DATA EXPUNGED]. The victim's corpse is usually released about two (2) to three (3) hours afterward.
Addendum XXXX-A: SCP-XXXX was first discovered after a lack of contact with the town of ███████, Ukraine was reported, along with several missing persons cases from the surrounding area, all of whom were last seen travelling to ███████. On 5/23/198█, a group of four (4) Foundation personnel were sent to investigate, and after two (2) hours contact with them was lost. In response, a containment team was sent to further investigate the possibility of anomalous activity, capture any anomalous items found, and to retrieve the personnel contact was lost with.
Members of the containment team report that the town seemed abandoned at first sight, but that after about thirty (30) minutes, they began to receive attacks from several town residents in the third stage of SCP-XXXX infection, which was responded to with gunfire. As a result of the attacks, four (4) out of the sixteen (16) members of the containment team were killed, and five (5) were injured.
Two (2) members of the original investigation team were found alive, both infected with SCP-XXXX. These personnel, along with an infant found in the first stage of infection and a resident of the town in the second stage of infection, were placed under quarantine and designated SCP-XXXX-1 (the infant), SCP-XXXX-2 (Dr. ████), SCP-XXXX-3 (Agent █████), and SCP-XXXX-4 (the town resident).
Soon after the initial containment team departed the site, Mobile Task Force Beta-7 was sent to quarantine the area and collect samples, along with another containment team who collected and disposed of any bodies and remaining infected subjects. A cover-up team released information to the public that ███████ had been destroyed by a massive flash flood.
Addendum XXXX-B: In order to understand the mental stability and capacity of subjects in the third stage of infection, an attempt at communication was deemed necessary. As subjects are unable to communicate vocally, an interview was conducted via written language. See Experiment Log XXXX-2.
Experiment Log XXXX-1
Pre-Experiment Note:
Although it is understood that a subject infected by SCP-XXXX will become aggressive in the presence of a human, it is thus far unknown if subjects will have the same response to other fauna, or if they specifically target humans. The following experiments are intended to determine whether or not infected subjects direct their aggression to any living creature nearby.
Experiment Procedure:
The experiments shall proceed as follows:
- SCP-XXXX-4 will be administered anesthetic gas before personnel enter with the test subject
- Personnel will exit the room, leaving the test subject until after SCP-XXXX-4 has woken and the experiment has ended
- Once the experiment is over, SCP-XXXX-4 will be subdued again and personnel will retrieve the test subject
Date: 11/22/██
Test Subject: A common laboratory rat (Rattus norvegicus)
Results: For the most part, SCP-XXXX-4 ignored the test subject, except for one instance in which the test subject attempted to chew at one of SCP-XXXX-4's fingers, to which it responded by calmly brushing the subject away. The subject was retrieved unharmed.
Date: 11/22/██
Test Subject: A common chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus)
Results: Subject ignored, retrieved unharmed.
Date: 11/22/██
Test Subject: An American green tree frog (Hyla cinerea)
Results: Subject ignored, retrieved unharmed.
Date: 11/22/██
Test Subject: A common chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes)
Results: Subject ignored, retrieved unharmed.
Note: It seems that infected subjects do, in fact, specifically target humans. However, this leaves us to wonder if perhaps they would have the same reaction to another infected individual; they are, after all, still human. I will be requesting clearance to introduce another infected subject to SCP-XXXX-4. -Dr. Hammell
Date: 11/24
Test Subject: SCP-XXXX-5
Results: Both subjects remained docile throughout the duration of the test. The subjects immediately huddled together, linking hands and arms. As the test went on, the subjects grew closer together until they were indistinguishable from one large subject. Upon closer inspection, SCP-XXXX-4 and SCP-XXXX-5 had, in fact, fused together into a single subject.
Note: Damnation. Yesterday, if you told me that there exists a disease capable of granting humans the ability of osmosis, I would have laughed. No-one bother me about this for a bit, I feel unwell. Subjects SCP-XXXX-4 and SCP-XXXX-5 shall be henceforth referred to as SCP-XXXX-A. -Dr. Hammell
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX-█
Interviewer: Dr. ███████
Foreword: Prior to the interview, SCP-XXXX-█ was subdued with anesthetic gas, and a chalkboard with three (3) pieces of chalk and an eraser was placed in the room, along with a small speaker through which Dr. ███████ would speak to the subject from another room. It should be noted that SCP-XXXX-█ understood and responded in English.
<Begin Log>
Dr. ███████: Hello, subject XXXX-█. Can you understand me? Can you write?
SCP-XXXX-█: [Subject hesitated, then retrieved a piece of chalk] "UNDERSTAND"
Dr. ███████: Excellent. How are you feeling? Are you in any pain?
SCP-XXXX-█: "WE ARE BEAUTIFUL ALL IS GOOD"
Dr. ███████: Who is "we?" There is only one of you.
SCP-XXXX-█: "WE ARE MANY"
Dr. ███████: That doesn't answer my question. What's your name, or names?
SCP-XXXX-█: "WE DO NOT NEED NAMES ALL ARE ONE"
Dr. ███████: I don't understand, who are you claiming to be?
SCP-XXXX-█: "WE WILL FORM TOGETHER AS THE GREAT ONE WE WILL GROW LARGER EVERY MOMENT"
Dr. ███████: Why do you want to grow larger and…form together?
SCP-XXXX-█: "ALL MEN WILL BE BROTHERS ALL PEOPLE WILL UNIFY"
[Subject moved towards the south-west corner of the room along with the chalkboard, notably toward the room Dr. ███████ was located in]
SCP-XXXX-█: "WE ARE YOUR BROTHERS ███████"
Dr. ███████: How the-[Turning from the microphone, Dr.███████ questioned a fellow researcher if the subject had been told his name, followed by a response in the negative]. How do you know my name, subject?
SCP-XXXX-█: "YOU WILL BE WITH US ███████ WE LOVE YOU"
Dr. ███████: Turn on the gas, this interview's over.
<End Log>
Closing Statement: The communicative abilities of subjects is confirmed. It also seems that subjects have no memory of their former selves, and other subjects tested have likewise spoken of "unity" and referred to themselves as many. It is thus far unknown what this may entail, however it is highly recommended that subjects should not be allowed to "fuse" with one another, such as in the case of SCP-XXXX-A.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in storage locker W-27 in Sector 4 of Site-19. SCP-XXXX's components are to be contained in its packaging at all times, except during research. Any individuals under the age of 18 are not to be allowed in a 15 meter radius of SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a child's toy shaving kit under the Dr. Wondertainment brand, titled the "Dr. Wondertainment's Little Man's First Shaving Kit." SCP-XXXX consists of five components: the packaging (SCP-XXXX-1), a pair of plastic toy scissors (SCP-XXXX-2), an empty plastic bottle (SCP-XXXX-3), a plastic toy shaving razor (SCP-XXXX-4), and a toy can of shaving cream (SCP-XXXX-5).
SCP-xxxx-1, -2, and -3 all seem to have no anomalous properties, but are kept with the active components in the event that they begin to bear some unusual properties. SCP-XXXX-1's front face features a brightly colored illustration of a child shaving alongside an adult male, presumably to imply a father. The back reads as follows:
