Item #: SCP-XXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is to be kept locked down within its vials, in a set of twelve (12) airtight containers, referred to as SCP-XXX-01 through SCP-XXX-12. Access is limited to Level 2 clearance, and should not be used on any non-Class D personnel. Exposed subjects are to be confined to a soundproof room for the duration of the drug's effect, and observed only remotely. Personnel observing the subject must submit to a psychological screening. Current count of samples is one hundred and fifteen (115).

Description: SCP-XXX is a drug currently contained in twelve (12) containers, each normally filled with ten (10) vials of an unidentified chemical. Upon taking the chemical, the user will enter a euphoric state. Test subjects have reported 'seeing every childhood dream come true' during this time. The secondary effect takes place between one (1) to three (3) hours later. Recent tests report that the subject sees their vision blacken, before reporting auditory and visual hallucinations, accompanied by internal hemorrhaging akin to various depths of incisions. Subject has no ability to hear or see reality, and will generally start yelling at the hallucinations, or break down crying.

According to several previous subjects, one may 'defeat' the hallucinations for a short while, anywhere ranging between thirty (30) minutes and thirty (30) hours via physical attacks. Interviews with them during these 'calm periods' reveal that the hallucinations involve failed childhood wishes, the age of the hallucination varying between as young as five (5) and as old as the subject's current age. The hallucinations are reported to 'punish' SCP-XXX-01 with sharp impliments related to the dream. Such examples are fire axes for firemen, and scalpels for medical personnel. Accompanying the 'attacks' are auditory hallucinations of the visual 'specters' berating them. Studies show that the 'specters' continue to appear and attack the subject until SCP-XXX has been worked out of the system. Subjects also report that the hallucinations continue to strengthen as time goes on.

SCP-XXX was recovered on a raid of known drug cartel [REDACTED]. The team was able to recover all boxes currently in Foundation hold, although the existence of more samples of SCP-XXX cannot be ruled out at this time.
