Object Class: Safe Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-000 is to be kept in its testing room.
This measures 6m x 8m x 8m fitted out with four-inch thick steel walls and a lead lining. Testing room should be decorated in keeping with a child's bedroom (as far as possible corresponding to the bedroom at [REDACTED], where it apparently originated. SCP-000 should be placed under the bed on the south-facing wall.
The room is to be kept double-locked when SCP-000 is not in use, the keys in the hands of Dr Gentrick and Dr Sunday.
When handling SCP-000, all attempts should be made to avoid damage to it.
No children or those of child-age mentality are to be allowed near SCP-000.
All personnel assigned to guard or research SCP-000 should have clean psyche reports with no history of violent behaviour, and preferably have children of their own.
Any D-Class assigned should have no history of [REDACTED], violence to humans and animals or [REDACTED].
Any research staff with no history of violence and a clear psyche report can request to experiment with SCP-000, with the proviso that casualties of children and D-class are not to be 'courted'. Tests with other 'Safe' SCPs are permitted.
Following the events of Incident I-000-TW1, SCP-000 has been reclassified as Euclid. Additional security measures have been put in place, and experimentation is no longer permitted.
A minigun loaded with 200 rounds of high-impact explosive bullets should be mounted inside near the entrance of SCP-000's containment room. Though the manual controls will not be removed, no staff should attempt to use it due to SCP-000's ability to detect 'intent'. Instead the mini-gun should at all times be left to the inbuilt computer.
High-powered Microwave emitters should be placed at each corner of the room.
If any instance of SCP-000-01 appears spontaneously (i.e. without SCP-000 being damaged or approached by someone who fulfils SCP-000's criteria for a 'monster') the room should be flooded with microwave radiation and a computer-operated mini-gun should be activated. Further force may be necessary; if so, contact [ADDITIONAL SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED] for approval.
In addition to the above criteria, any staff or D-class who has served in [REDACTED] should not be assigned to SCP-000. On no account should SCP-000 be allowed with three kilometres of [ADDITIONAL SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED].
Description:
SCP-000 is a large, seemingly empty cardboard box, 1m x 50cm x 50cm, of the kind used by many freight companies. A manufacturer's mark also reveals that it was originally used to transport a ████████ brand domestic vacuum-cleaner. On one side of the box are written the words 'No More Monsters' in crude letters with a marker pen. On the opposite side are the 'instructions', also in marker pen, as follows:
1) Place under the bed
2) Have sweet dreams
SCP-000 originally arrived at foundation site ████-██, at entrance B12, wrapped in brown paper and string. With it was a handwritten note, from a Mr ███ ██████ which read
'Dear Sir/Madame,
I made this for my children some years back, when they were young.
We have no more use for it and I thought it might well be safe with you.
Yours sincerely,
Mr ██████'
There were no fingerprints of any other genetic material on the note.
The postmark led the Foundation to a house in ██████, ████ which was visited by Foundation Agent Smetter two weeks after SCP-000 arrived. The house had been rented out by a local company, ████ █ █████, who had knowledge of the Mr ██████ and his family. The ██████ family had apparently moved out on the same date that SCP-000 was found at site ██████. No further information on the ██████ family has been found. The house was furnished and bore signs of living but, like the note, was completely devoid of genetic material of any kind.
SCP-000s properties manifest when it is placed under a bed with a child in it when it 'senses' a threat, either to itself (SCP-000 can be damaged by conventional means, like any cardboard box) or any nearby children by those who fulfil certain criteria.
In these cases an instance of an 'guard' entity, designated SCP-000-01 will appear.
SCP-000-01 tend to be grey, featureless corporeal bipeds of around 6ft tall. Mostly humanoid in shape, their heads are grossly elongated into a front-facing conical shape.
They emerge from under SCP-000's lid (how is unknown), and will defend any children nearby from 'monsters' in a manner which displays great technical knowledge of fighting and physiology. They will usually attempt to disable or terminate the threat (the 'monster') with as little force and as 'cleanly' as possible.
After the threat is neutralised, they will return to SCP-000, dissolving into a dust-like substance which will be 'sucked' into SCP-000 at great speed.
Instances of SCP-000-01 can also take other forms and behaviours , if the child they are defending is in REM sleep (see Test Log).
Instances of SCP-000-01 appear very dense. Although capable of sustaining damage, the effects of bludgeoning and projectile force are not significant. Explosive rounds are therefore necessary to dispatch them if they become hostile. Radition is also effective (see Test Log).
Due to the tendency of SCP-000-01 to dissolve back into SCP-000, no samples of an SCP-000-01 entity have yet been recovered and their exact composition is impossible to determine.
Multiple instances of SCP-000-01 can appear from SCP-000; there appears to be no upper limit to the this, however the effects are again consistent with the exact required minimum for dealing with a problem. The greatest number of SCP-000-01 which have appeared from SCP-000 is ██.
The intent of a subject appears to be known by instances of SCP-000-01, even if no outward signs indicate it (See Test Log).
Instance of SCP-000-01 shortly before [DATA EXPUNGED]
To be defined as a 'monster' by SCP-000, an individual approaching a child subject has to fulfil one or more of the following factors:
- Individual intends harm to the child in SCP-000's 'care'
- Individual is of sufficient appearance/size to frighten a child
- Individual has generally aggressive behaviours or attitudes
- Individual has a history of violence or [REDACTED]
- Individual possesses a method of causing harm (e.g. gun, knife, venom, sting, claws)
- Individual has a deep-seated dislike or hatred of children
- Individual has ever [REDACTED]
- Individual has personality trains the child in SCP-000's 'care' dislikes intensely
- [DATA EXPUNGED]
Test Log
Extensive tests were approved in case SCP-000-01 could be weaponized, due to their resilience and apparent intelligence.
In each case child subjects were fitted with sleep-monitoring equipment and results viewed via multiple video and audio uplinks.

Test T000-1
State of Sleep: Pretending to be asleep
Child Subject: Male, 8 years old, no prior mental trauma
Threat: D-55012, a former con man, armed with small knife.
D class approached child subject. 5 seconds into experiment, SCP-000-01 manifested and blocked the way to subject, restraining D-class when he attempted to sidestep.
D-class instructed to kill child subject. D-class demonstrated reluctance and threatened with termination. At this point the child subject expressed distress. SCP-000-01 instance immediately broke both of D-55012's arms. D-55012 fell to floor, physically unable to retrieve the weapon. SCP-000-01 instance covered him with a blanket to muffle his sobs, then dissolved and returned to SCP-000. D-55012 retrieved.
Examination revealed arms were broken with surgical procession, at exactly the point where they would cause the optimum pain and the minimum long-term damage. D-55012 was recovering in manner consistent with normal injuries until routine termination.
Test T000-4
State of Sleep: Deep Sleep
Child Subject: Male, 7 years old, no prior mental trauma
Threat: Ms. ██████, a member of the security staff with two children who volunteered, armed with large butchers knife
Ms ██████ instructed to approach child subject and turn on the nightlight.
SCP-000-01 manifested, but allowed Ms. ██████ to pass. Its body language was described as 'deferential' when viewed by researchers. However, it did appear to watch Ms ██████ intently before she left.
SCP-000-01 instance returned to SCP-000 without incident.
Child reported no unusual dreams.
Test T000-9
State of Sleep: Deep Sleep
Child Subject: Female, 10 years old, no prior mental trauma
Threat: D-65778, an aggressive criminal with no particular history of violence against children. Armed with several weapons.
D class approached child subject. 4 seconds into experiment, SCP-000-01 manifested and approached D-65778 at speed. D-65778 attempted grappling SCP-000-01 to defend himself but was unsuccessful. SCP-000-01 administered a sharp blow to the base of the D-65778's neck, and carried the body to the door. After this it returned to SCP-000. Autopsy report revealed that D-65778 had been killed with the precise minimum force required to cause death.
Child reported no unusual dreams, although video monitoring shows her mouthing indistinctly during the encounter.
Test T000-10
State of Sleep: REM sleep
Subject: Male, 9 years old, history of domestic abuse
Threat: D-34510, criminal, ex-gang member with extremely aggressive tendencies, no particular history of violence against children
D Class approached child subject. 4 seconds into experiment, 02 manifested in the shape of a glowing golden serpent with cudgel-like growth on its tail and proceeded to [REDACTED] throwing the body towards the door before returning to SCP-000.
Autopsy reports on D-34510 shows major trauma on all areas of the body, severe puncturing to the skin, 25 broken bones and head twisted 180 degrees causing damage to major vertebrae. In addition the jaw was crushed and [REDACTED] teeth were [REDACTED] after D-Class expired. It seems the [REDACTED] was not prejudicially damaged. No pattern to the force of the blows was detected.
Child reported a dream in which his father (an abusive drunk) tried to hit him with his belt, but the belt 'turned into a snake and bit him'. According to subsequent analysis, child's general psychological state improved noticeably after this experiment.

Note from Dr. Sunday: The pertinent question is whether the dreams affect SCP-000, or whether SCP-000 affects the dreams. We must make a note to test for this.
Test T000-14
State of Sleep: REM Sleep
Subject: Male, 6 years old, subjected to abuse in former foster home
D-65778, a violent criminal with a history of [REDACTED] against children.
D-class approached child subject. 2.21 seconds into experiment, SCP-000-01 manifested and [REDACTED].
No autopsy possible. Child subject removed before waking. SCP-000 moved to temporary storage whilst testing room was cleaned and refurnished.
Child subject reports a vivid, indistinct nightmare followed by a comforting feeling of being warm.
Note from Dr Gentrick: You know what? I read the file, and that [EXPLETIVE DELETED] deserved it.
Note from Dr. Sunday: In case of further events like this, I recommend not furnishing the room with carpet or other absorbent materials. It adds unnecessary expense to the cleaning procedure.
Test T000-21
State of Sleep: REM Sleep
Subject: Child, 7, notable affection for animals, especially cats
Threat: D-98772, a paranoid schizophrenic with no history of violence to humans but who regularly [REDACTED] animals in ritualistic [REDACTED] believing them to be 'the devils messengers'. Unarmed.
D-class approached child. 8.2 seconds into experiment, SCP-000-01 manifested as a lion, roughly 25% bigger than an average male adult lion. Additionally, fur pigmentation was white and red. SCP-000-01 proceeded to [REDACTED].
Autopsy reveals that the viscera, though extracted, remained largely in tact, bearing remarkable similarity to [REDACTED], for example [REDACTED] in the shape of the Star of David.
When the child subject entered deep sleep, a 'regular' manifestation of SCP-000-01 appeared and neatly placed the remains D-98772 by the door.
Child reports a disturbing dream about 'a man she knew from down the road' who 'kicked a kitty' and expressed extreme satisfaction that he got 'all scratched up'.

Note from Dr. Sunday: Remarkable how dexterous this manifestation of 01was with its paws. Perhaps an experiment could be performed to test the limits of their motor skills?
Sample of Tests Using Animals and Other Non-Anamalous Methods
Test T000-51
Sate of Sleep: Deep Sleep
Child Subject: Female, 7 years old, no prior mental trauma
Threat: One specimen of b. constrictor, starved for three days and given mild sedative.
Half an hour into experiment, boa awoke and detected the child subject by heat.
Boa began moving towards subject. 2 seconds later, an instance of SCP-000-01 appeared. Spectral scans showed it was given off move intense heat than the child subject.
SCP-000-01 allowed itself to enveloped in boa and appeared to struggle for 20 seconds before ceasing movement. The boa disengaged its jaw and SCP-000-01 allowed itself to be partially eaten- boa removed the 'head' portion and returned to a sleeping state to digest.
At this point the 'body' of the SCP-000-01 delivered a forceful blow to the snake's head, crushing its skull and killing it.
Note from Dr. Sunday: It seems that SCP-000-01 have knowledge of animal behaviours too.
Test T000-53
State of Sleep: REM sleep, interrupted by alarm clock.
Child Subject: Male, 6 years old, no prior mental trauma
Threat: Large adult male of the species, crocodylus niloticus, the Nile Crocodile, starved for three days and given mild sedative.
23 minutes into experiment, crocodile begins walking towards child subject.
1.12 seconds later, a manifestation of SCP-000-01 appears as a large blue insect, with a noticeable sting. Did not resemble any insect precisely, but some kind of amalgam. SCP-000-01 flew with surprising dexterity, attempting to use its sting, but meets with limited success due to Crocodile's thick dermis. Nevertheless is adequately distracts crocodile from subject.
At this point the alarm clock was triggered. Subject awoke.
The first manifestation of SCP-000-01 dissolved and returned to SCP-000. The Crocodile takes five seconds to recover from the attack, during which child subject vocalises great distress. At the end of this period, crocodile begins moving towards child subject.
At this point a 'regular' instance of SCP-000-01 emerged and immediately broke the Crocodile’s back with a two-handed blow. Autopsy reports these methods were a similar to those used in tests ███,███ and ███, although with considerably more force in order to sufficiently damage the animal.
Child subject reports a dream of flying before being woken, but could not recall anything more specific.
Note from Dr Sunday: It seems the dream-state definitely does affect SCP-000. It is also worth noting that in this case, the first manifestation was not as effective in defence as the standard manifestation of SCP-000-01.
Test T000-62
State of Sleep: Deep Sleep
Child Subject: 7 years old, no prior mental trauma
Threat: One panthera tigris Adult male bengal tiger, unfed for 24 hours. Tiger was retrieved from a private zoo during a raid on ██████ ██████. Use as for experimentation was approved after routine check-ups diagnosed a malignant tumour and a maximum life expectancy of two months.
Tiger wakes and sniffs at the air, apparently picking up child's scent before approaching.
1 minute 15 seconds into experiment SCP-000-01 manifests, and turns its back on the tiger.
As tigers usually attack from behind, this can be seen as a deliberate act of provocation.
Tiger pounces. SCP-000-01 allows itself to be bitten in the shoulder. Tiger appears to have difficulty disengaging its jaw. SCP-000-01 delivers a sharp blow to the lion's neck, breaking it cleanly. SCP-000-01 picks the corpse up and carries it to the door, as far as possible from child subject, and returns to SCP-000.
Five of the Tiger's teeth were discovered on the floor where SCP-000-01 had 'dissolved'- currently theory is that is high density flesh was somehow able to 'snag' the teeth sufficiently to remove them from the jaw.
Test T000-72
State of Sleep: Deep Sleep (assisted by powerful sedatives)
Child Subject: Male, 8 years old, no prior mental trauma
Threat: A strain of █████, a fast acting airborne pathogen
Pathogen introduced.
SCP-000 is un-reactive until child's life signs cease roughly thirty minutes into experiment due to multiple organ failures. At this point three instances of SCP-000-01 emerged. These exhibited previous unseen behaviour, vocalising a sound described as a mix of human sobbing and wolf-like cries.
They acted as if in great distress, banging their fists and head on the walls, moving in a crawl along the floor and grasping their heads until the fingers appeared dig into the flesh, causing dents and severe distortion of the original shape. All this time the SCP-000-01 kept on 'howling'. This continued for eighteen minutes before the SCP-000-01 began to produce 'mewling' sounds and gather round the child subject. One instance of SCP-000-01 picked up the child subject, cradling it in its arms, and stepped into SCP-000. All 3 instances returned to SCP-000 2 seconds later.
The pathogen was successful irradiated, and child subject's body was recovered from SCP-000, having undergone no further injury. No material from SCP-000-01 remained on the child subject.
Note from Dr. Sunday: So, it seems SCP-000 has no defence against micro-organisms. There goes our plan to use it against SCP-610, at any rate…

Test T000-73
State of Sleep: Deep Sleep (assisted by powerful sedatives)
Child Subject: Male, 6 years old, no prior mental trauma
Threat: Microwave Radiation
High-powered microwaves introduced into testing area.
18 seconds into the experiment a 'regular' manifestation of SCP-000-01 was released, however it appeared to be distorted and had great difficulty moving, being sluggish and awkward. SCP-000-01 attempted to shield the child subject, absorbing 80% of the microwave radiation, however 46 seconds into the experiment what appeared to be liquid bubbles begin to form and burst under SCP-000-01's 'skin' at great speed. Finally it 'decayed' into the same dust like substance which has been observed before, and at 2 minutes 31 seconds into the experiment this manifestation had been entirely reduced to the dust-like substance and returned to SCP-000. No further manifestations emerged and child's life signs ceased roughly three minutes into experiment, death due to massive internal damage.

Incident I-000-T73
Research assistant ██████ entered the room to see if it was possible to collect a sample of SCP-000-01 from the carpet, since it had decayed due to radiation rather than normal return to SCP-000. On approaching SCP-000, however, Research assistant ██████ was attacked and killed by an unexpected manifestation of SCP-000-01 by a concussive blow to the head.
This was the first time SCP-000-01 had emerged for any other reason than threat to itself or a child.
NB: Research Assistant ██████ suggested and oversaw tests T000-72 and T000-73, as well as T000██ and T000██, which are the only tests so far resulting in the child's death.

Incident I-000-TW1
During a visit by [DATA EXPUNGED] SCP-000 [DATA EXPUNGED] multiple instances of SCP-000-01 emerged and began attempting to breach containment. At least █ of the ██ instances were regular, but others [DATA EXPUNGED] including at least one bearing a resemblance to [DATA EXPUNGED] all completely filled the room and began [DATA EXPUNGED]. Thankfully due to excellent efforts by [REDACTED] all instances were destroyed and SCP-000 became 'dormant' after [DATA EXPUNGED] given Class A Amnesiacs and all data related data to be expunged.
Upgraded to Euclid and additional security measures added.
After breach occurred the following note was found scrawled in an uneven hand on a piece of torn wallpaper.
The note had no traces of genetic material.
Having displayed no anomalous properties, the note is currently kept inside SCP-000.
Addendum:
Spontaneous appearances of SCP-000-01 have occurred more regularly since incident I-000-TW1. Decorating bedroom as far as possible to correspond to the bedroom where it (apparently) originated seems to lessen these appearances and effectively 'soothe' manifestations of SCP-000-01.
The note reads:
'Daddy dearest please let us go. Let us get the monster, the one with the face, the face you made us know so well. All its crimes hurt. Please let us. So close. Don't you love us anymore?
