Mausoleum Idea
An instance of SCP-XXX before destruction
---
Item #: SCP-XXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: The area surrounding SCP-XXX is to be kept secure and all non-qualified personnel are to be prevented from entering the perimeter. Personnel entering SCP-XXX may only do so while wearing a hazmat suit. Any casualties as a result of SCP-XXX are to be incinerated and the ashes disposed of in SCP-XXX.
Description: The current instance of SCP-XXX is a mausoleum located in [REDACTED], Ukraine. SCP-XXX contains several platforms and ledges upon which human remains covered in white shrouds are located. The remains themselves have no anomalous effects, and the mausoleum was used normally as a burial site by the ████████ family until the destruction of the last instance of SCP-XXX located at [REDACTED].

A victim of SCP-XXX. Subject was inside SCP-XXX for about six (6) minutes, and was completely healthy before entering. Subject lived, but limb had to be amputated.
---
When a living organism enters SCP-XXX, the entrance to SCP-XXX will shut for a period lasting from ten (10) seconds to eight (8) minutes, and will not be openable by any means. During this time, any dead flesh located in SCP-XXX will become attracted to any exposed skin on the subject. This attraction extends to the entirety of SCP-XXX, but is strongest within one (1) meter of the subject. Once the dead flesh contacts the subject, it will begin causing necrosis of the surrounding living tissue on the subject. The onset of necrosis is much more rapid than normal, and has been known to consume entire limbs while the subject is inside of SCP-XXX. Once outside SCP-XXX, necrosis continues at a normal rate, as if caused by infection. In addition to this effect, a sharp object will appear on the floor in the middle of SCP-XXX. Objects that have been found within SCP-XXX include:
* a scalpel
* a pair of scissors
* a large set of nail clippers
* a potato peeler
Subjects in SCP-XXX, usually frantic and panicking due to the effects, will often begin to amputate tissues affected by necrosis using these objects. It should be noted that this effect is not believed to be memetic, and is not required to survive exposure to SCP-XXX. Amputated tissues will not have the same attractive properties on the subject as other dead flesh. Once necrotic tissue is amputated, dead flesh will no longer be attracted to the site of amputation.
When SCP-XXX is destroyed, another mausoleum will take on all properties of SCP-XXX. This effect is not fully understood, but it is theorized that only mausoleums near the burial site of previous victims will become the new incarnation of SCP-XXX. Because the burial locations of said victims are unknown, SCP-XXX should not be destroyed for fear of containment breach.

An outlet of a colony of SCP-XXX. Picture taken prior to destruction.
---
Item #: SCP-XXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: A colony of SCP-XXX is to be kept for research purposes. The colony shall be kept in a hollow 2m3 insect containment chamber. This chamber is to be suspended in the geometric center of an additional 5m3 metal containment chamber, kept in place with hydraulic shock absorbers. Colony is to be cared for as outlined in the Standard Anthropoda Care Procedure (see document A76-b), and is to be given 175 mL of nutritional substance NXXXa every day.
Colonies of SCP-XXX have been confirmed to exist in the wild. These have been found in North America, Europe, and Asia. Due to how widespread SCP-XXX is, it is extremely difficult to destroy all instances of SCP-XXX and to contain it. Because of this, and the relatively low risk that small colonies of SCP-XXX pose to humans, these wild colonies are generally considered safe and not a threat to humanity nor the Foundation. However, worldwide seismic records are to constantly be watched for signs of large colonies of SCP-XXX. These signs include:
- Repeated earthquakes in an area of Richter scale 3 or above
- Repeated earthquakes of escalating magnitude in a single area
- Earthquakes in seismically stable areas
Read Document XXX-a6 for a complete document about identifying and locating SCP-XXX colonies. Should a suspected colony be discovered, agents are to be dispatched to the location. If an instance of SCP-XXX is identified through genetic testing, then the size of the colony is to be determined, and various insecticides are to be used to neutralize the colony. Use of VX nerve gas is permitted in extreme situations, when it is determined that the colony presents a large threat to human infrastructure.
Description:
SCP-XXX is a species of ant (belonging to the Formicidae family) closely resembling Lasius niger, known commonly as the black garden ant. SCP-XXX is physically identical to Lasius niger, and is commonly mistaken for it. Despite this similarity, SCP-XXX differs from Lasius niger behaviorally. While colonies of Lasius niger compete with and attack eachother, colonies of SCP-XXX will merge upon meeting. Due to this, megacolonies of SCP-XXX containing millions of workers and thousands of queens have been known to appear. Also unlike Lasius niger, which is a herbivore and insectivore, SCP-XXX is a carnivorous species. Small colonies of SCP-XXX will prey on other insects and will eat carrion, while larger colonies will actively attack living animals, destroying vital organs and often consuming the animal while it is still alive.

---
Large colonies of SCP-XXX, which require more food and energy, employ a unique attack technique to prey on animals. Before commencement of an attack, all members of the colony apart from the queens will burrow to a distance of less than 10 cm below the surface. Then, all ants in the colony will begin to simultaneously vibrate against the walls of the tunnels. These vibrations will release enormous amounts of kinetic energy into the surrounding earth, creating large seismic waves and causing an earthquake. It is unknown how SCP-XXX releases the enormous amounts of energy required to cause an earthquake. Smaller colonies of SCP-XXX will create earthquakes ranging from magnitude 2.0 to magnitude 3.0. Such earthquakes usually do not damage human structures, and are instead meant to startle animals and cause them to expose themselves to the open, where they become easier prey for SCP-XXX.
Item #: SCP-XXX-J
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX-J is to be kept in a lightly-secured living quarters, and is to be allowed a moderate degree of freedom to prevent depression and to maintain cooperation with the Foundation. Any reasonable requests are to be granted, so long as the subject never contacts the outside world. Subject has no anomalous physical properties, so only mild security procedures need to be observed.
Description: SCP-XXX-J is a physically normal human male, weighing 72 kilograms and standing at 182 cm tall, and 24 years old at time of writing. While otherwise no mental anomalies, SCP-XXX-J appears to be entirely unable to read text written in the "██ █████ ████" typeface, despite being able to identify the text as being written in said typeface. Experimentation has shown that while the subject can identify the letters and words that the text forms, they are unable to comprehend the meaning of the text without transferring the text to a secondary medium. Typefaces that look similar to "██ █████ ████", but with slight differences, are partially comprehensible to the subject, with comprehensibility increasing as the typeface less resembled "██ █████ ████". Work to reverse-engineer SCP-XXX-J's affliction is ongoing. See Addendum XXX-J-8112 for more information.
Addendum XXX-J-8112: By using fMRI tractology in combination with an advanced image recombination algorithm, it has been proven possible to create visual "anti-memes" that work in the same way as SCP-XXX-J's typographic mental block. As of this writing, a total of ██ separate memetic agents have been generated in this way. However, due to the nature of SCP-XXX-J, most of the memes generated have effects relating to ██ █████ ████. The following is a set of logs from the numerous experiments made using said memes.
Experiment Log XXX-M7
Researcher: Dr. Opus
Date: 19/12/2011
Image ID: #KQ-███████████11
Effect: Memetic administered to D-class, then subject was shown a section of text from William Shakespeare's Hamlet, with the typeface changed to "██ █████ ████". Subject began to show large amounts of anger and irritation, but was still able to comprehend the text.
Analysis: Memetic seemed to have no effect. Effect observed was as expected for someone shown text in the "██ █████ ████" typeface.
Experiment Log XXX-M19
Researcher: Dr. Black
Date: 27/12/2011
Image ID: #IV-███████████31
Effect: Memetic administered to D-class, then subject was shown a section of text from William Shakespeare's Hamlet, with the typeface changed to "██ █████ ████". Subject was still able to comprehend the text. However, at a later time, it was discovered that the subject was unable to comprehend text written in the "███████" typeface , a separate typeface.
Analysis: Memetic had a similar effect to the desired effect, but for a different typeface. Research is still ongoing to determine how to change the target typeface.
Dr. Black: I think I'll keep this one for now. I hate that damned ███████ just as much as ████ ████.
Experiment Log XXX-M34
Researcher: Dr. Opus
Date: 5/1/2012
