Item #: SCP-XXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is to be contained in a furnished 10x10m holding cell, but she is to be allowed access to all non-sensitive areas of Site 3 with a 19:00-08:00 curfew. SCP-XXX is currently a category 9 self-endangerment risk. Medical staff are not to ask SCP-XXX to swallow tablets, injections are to be given for all medication.

On no account is SCP-XXX to be brought into contact with sensitive or delicate electronic equipment.

SCP-XXX is to receive weekly counselling sessions until such a time as her counsellor dictates otherwise. All staff at Site 3 are to remain apprised of SCP-XXX mental state and are to avoid actions that may destabilise it. Staff are under no circumstances to comment on SCP-XXX's physical appearance. All staff are to remain mindful of SCP-XXX rehabilitation at all times. In order to aid SCP-XXX's recovery the following are to be removed from areas that she may access:

Description: SCP-XXX is a 34 year old woman of mixed heritage, part Caucasian part Asian with short brown hair and brown eyes. SCP-XXX is heavily scarred from injuries inflicted both by weapons and animals and as such is permitted to wear more concealing clothing than standard issue and is not required to undergo physical security examinations. She is not regarded as a smuggling risk.

SCP-XXX is currently recovering from severe emotional trauma brought about by years of methodical physical and emotional abuse. SCP-XXX suffers from frequent flashbacks, panic attacks and catatonic episodes. Her recovery is regarded as a high priority.

SCP-XXX emits an as of yet unclassifiable category of energy that interferes with the operation of technological devices. SCP-XXX cannot say when this ability first manifested, stating that devices always had a tendency to "die on" her, but over the past ██ years the effect has become heightened to potentially dangerous levels. SPC-XXX has been shown to reduce the reliability of electronic devices within a 10m radius, but only prolonged (greater than 100 consecutive hours) exposure or direct interaction by SCP-XXX has been shown to have a significant effect. SCP-XXX's effect on technology correlates strongly with the complexity of the device, SCP-XXX can use a landline phone for up to an hour before a malfunction is likely, but a typical modern mobile phone will begin to malfunction in less than 15 minutes. Purely mechanical devices can also be effected, but this typically takes in the order of several mandays of direct interaction.

SCP-XXX came to the Foundation willingly and without our prior knowledge of her existence. SCP-XXX reports that █ years ago she was kidnapped by a group the Foundation believes based on SCP-XXX's accounts to have been The Church of the Broken God. Her kidnappers refereed to her as "The Accursed One" and intended to execute her at a time and place with some unrevealed significance. During her imprisonment SCP-XXX learned of the existence of the Foundation from overheard conversations. When the group holding SCP-XXX where attacked by another group, believed at this time to have been GOC agents, SCP-XXX was able to effect her escape and contact the Foundation via one of our cover companies.

Psychological evaluation SCP-XXX-237. Emergency session scheduled after a newly transferred security guard frisked SCP-XXX, in contravention of standing orders. Guard has been demoted and reassigned.
Staff present: Dr █████, site psychologist, Mr ██████, site councillor. Security teams eschewed. As part of rehabilitation and treatment of SCP-XXX medical staff refer to her by her given name of ██████.
Transcript Begins
Mr ██████: Hello again ██████. How are you feeling?
SCP-XXX: {unintelligable}
Mr ██████: Pardon? I can't quite hear you.
SCP-XXX: I'm sorry.
Mr ██████: No, no, ██████, no one is angry with you. What happened wasn't your fault, we know that. I'm not angry, are you angry Doctor?
Dr █████: Certainly not with you.
Mr ██████: You see? We just need to find out how we can help you, make sure you are OK. OK?
SCP-XXX: Yes.
Mr ██████: Do you want to tell me about it?
SCP-XXX: Its just, its just, he… {unintelligible, devolving into tears}
Mr ██████: Shh, shh, its ok, we don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. You set the agenda here, OK?
Segment ends.
Conclusions:

  • Mr ██████: It is clear that SCP-XXX's recovery is being harmed by her continued detention at a clearly high security facility. The constant reminders that she is in captivity, such as the fact that her door is locked for curfew, are hindering her treatment. The fact that her abuse was administered to a closely maintained regimen means that we need to give SCP-XXX as much control as possible over her environment and schedule if she is to recover. Suggest moving her to a dedicated facility, possibly a small house in the grounds of Site █, which would allow her to exercise this control in a manner we can keep contained.
  • Dr █████: If SCP-XXX is to become an asset to the Foundation, which even leaving aside her apparent importance to The Church of the Broken God and the inferred value against them her abilities make likely, then she must be allowed to heal and to come to terms with her situation. In her current mental state SCP-XXX is of no value to us and may, if we attempt to utilise her abilities, prove hazardous. Seconding Mr ██████'s recommendation.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: Access to SCP-XXXX is to be limited to press teams operating under project ECHO or research teams attempting to isolate the cause of the SCP's effect. The civilian security system in place at SCP-XXXX is to be supplemented by class 4 non-intrusive Foundation Security systems.

Description: SCP-XXXX is the former site of the Elpis Homoeopathic medicine research institute, located in [REDACTED], USA.

SCP-XXXX is a small industrial building with only a single floor.

When using SCP-XXXX as part of denial procedures all press are to be taken to a dummy site appropriate to the intended cover and given type 3 amnesiacs before transfer to the SCP.

Item #: SCP-XXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is to be kept in a category A7 secure containment vault. SCP-XXX is to be kept under category 2 indirect surveillance at all times to prevent the operation of the secondary capabilities of SCP-XXX. SCP-XXX is not to be used in testing without majority oversight vote.

Description: SCP-XXX is a container of fluctuating dimensions (currently an approximate cuboid of 320mm x 270mm x 150mm) and a constant mass of 5.3Kg. SCP-XXX tends towards forms that match containers familiar with its observers. When opened SCP-XXX causes a localised degradation of atomic stability. This effect is progressive both in terms of range and intensity. Inherently unstable atoms (those typically considered radioactive) increase their rate of decay near exponentially. Stable atoms gradually begin to decay after approximately 3 hours of exposure and do so at an approximately linear rate. H1 is believed to be the only atom not effected. The effected range is 10m3 upon opening and increased by approximately 5m3 per hour. This distortion is persistant upon the closing of SCP-XXX, trending towards the norm at approximately a rate of 1 hour of effect per week of non-exposure.

The most dangerous aspect of SCP-XXX is its memetic effect. Individuals observing SCP-XXX gain an instinctive impression that SCP-XXX contains the answer to their current predicament. This impression is increased to a Grade 3 memetic compulsion of they handle SCP-XXX, and a Grade 1 compulsion in all subjects viewing SCP-XXX who have previously observed its operation. For this reason all surveillance of SCP-XXX is to be passive only.
