Night vision still of SPC-???? taken from field test I, 00:00:05 into footage |
Due to the form of SCP-???? it is unable to be extracted a safe distance from local residents. The SCP Foundation has thus purchased the apartment complex containing SCP-????, constructing labs and personal residences for Dr.██████'s team who are to be stationed in apartments on the second floor of the complex. As SCP-???? has no effect on anyone outside of apartment no. 21 (now refered to as A21), no efforts are being made to contain it. However, to prevent locals from entering the complex and A21, the following changes have been made to the structure:
-The windows of all apartments are barred with a titanum alloy fashioned to resemble common rebar.
-Reinforced steel combination locks are installed to the front and rooftop entrances with the ███ digit code changed every 72 hours.
-A closed-circuit night vision/infrared camera is fitted in the 2nd floor bedroom of A21 feeding visual to apartment no. 22
Security personnel in disguise are to rotate their shifts every 3 hours, giving the appearance of locals entering and leaving their homes. After the incidences [REDACTED], no staff is permitted entry to SCP-????. Agent ████████ has since replaced Dr.██████ and resumed experimentation on SCP-???? ██/██/20██
Description:
SCP-???? is a windowless bedroom located on the second floor of A21 in ██████, British Columbia. The room is 20 (twenty) meters2 and appears on all security footage to be an empty room with hardwood floors and concrete walls. The room is unable to be illuminated by standard forms of light as the darkness within the room seems to re-direct photons at an exponential rate from the door, however it is theorized due to [REDACTED]. Some waves of light entering the camera lense seem to encounter no resistance from SCP-???? allowing infrared and night vision cameras to be utilized. All light wavelengths are in some way affected by SPC-????, monitor with extreme caution. It is yet to be confirmed whether radio and sound waves are also manipulated.
The second nature of SPC-???? has been encountered by Class-D personell during examinations of the rooms interior. Upon triggering a light switch located 1 (one) meter and N90 (ninety) degrees from the door, subjects claim the bedside lamps in the room have activated, although security footage shows no change in luminescence and infrared cameras do not detect any heatsource other than the subject. Subjects describe the room to have a bed, fireplace, two bedside tables, ████████████ and two lamps - all of which cannot be seen in security footage.

Night vision still of SPC-????-1 taken from field test I, 00:02:36 into footage. 4x magnification |
Approximately 2:30 (two minutes thirty seconds) into the examination, SCP-????-1 appears visible to the night vision camera, though only barely as wavelengths emmitted are only borderline 10
6 meters in length. SCP-????-1 shows humanoid bone structure sporting an inverted joint system. Security footage shows no interaction between the subject and SCP-????-1, but audio suggests otherwise - See ammendum. Data from field reports implies that the visual from the security camera is false and does not show the realtime events in the room until the lightswitch is switched off. This along with the unnatural darkness and subjects' ability to physically touch objects which are not visually present in the room has lead Dr.██████ to predict that SCP-???? is able to bend and manipulate wavelengths of light ranging from the visible spectrum to infrared as well as wavelengths emmitted from the brain. It is uncertain as to whether or not SPC-????-1 physically exists or is simply an illusion produced by SPC-???? by manipulating wavelengths in the near infrared spectrum.
Addendum:
As Dr.██████ prematurely closed experimentation after [REDACTED] further tests will be without funding until Agent ███████'s paperwork is approved by The Foundation. Until then, nothing more can be learned except from reassessing footage and audio from field tests I and II.
██/██/20██: The Foundation acquires SPC-???? and the complex surrounding it.
██/██/20██: Dr.██████ assembles her team to begin tests on SCP-????.
██/██/20██: Permanent lab and security facilities installed within the complex.
██/██/20██: First tests begin, lead by Dr.██████. 3 Class-D personnel are instructed to explore the room. Flash lights appear to have no effect on the darkness. The room is concluded to be empty, all Class-D personnel show signs of irritability and stress. This was considered a natural effect of the darkness.
██/██/20██: First field test begins. Class D personnel enters SPC-???? alone. Light sources remain to be ineffective at illuminating the room. Subject finds the light switch located in the camera's blindspot, this was not found during original testing. Subject ordered to activate the light switch. Subject reports the room to be fully furnished and completely illuminated. Infrared and night vision camera detects no change in the room. Subject ordered to touch furniture. Subject is able to fully interact with the furniture in SCP-???? as one would anywhere else. 00:02:36 into the field test, SCP-????-1 is able to be detected by the night vision cameras but emits no infrared signatures. Subject is unable to see SCP-????-1 which is therefore inbetween the barely visible spectrum and infrared. SCP-????-1 pays no attention to the subject and is seen moving around the room, though the image is not very clear. Analysed stills lead us to assume that the spectre is bipedal with inverted joints to that of a human - this is clearly visible with its subscapular. At 00:06:03 the spectre is seen to move toward the camera. An audible click is heard which is assumed to be the lightswitch. The subject claims the lamps have gone out and that the furniture appears to have disappeared. The spectre never re-emerges from the blind-spot. Field test concluded.
██/██/20██: Dr.██████'s team analyses data and submits first report on SCP-????.

Infrared still of subject taken from field test II, 00:06:38 into footage |
██/██/20██: Second field test begins. Class D personnel enters SCP-???? and activates the light switch. Confirms that the room is fully furnished and illuminated. Subject is ordered to remain seated on the foot of the bed. Camera visuals indicate the subject to still be exploring the room. Subject is again ordered to sit on the bed. Subject claims to already be stationed on the bed. Heat signatures confirm that the subject is seated where the bed is expected to be although night vision shows the subject to be wandering around the room, aimlessly. At 00:02:28, SCP-????-1 reappears in the video feed but is still undetected by infrared. The spectre appears to be motionless, staring at a point in the room. Upon oscillating the night vision and infrared feeds, it is concluded that the spectre is staring directly at the subject. At 00:04:13 subject [REDACTED] although infrared feed implies the subject to remain on the bed. Night vision shows the subject to still be wandering aimlessly. [REDACTED] more panicked [REDACTED] followed by silence. At 00:06:05, SCP-????-01 moves into the camera's blind-spot. Subject still fails to respond. At 00:06:38 an audible click from the light switch is heard. [REDACTED]. █████ ████████ the walls, ceiling and floor. Hand prints identified on the western-most wall match that of the subjects
Interviewed: Dr.██████
Interviewer: Dr.Ambrose
Foreword: Dr.██████ is to undergo a psych evaluation to determine whether or not she is capable of continuing research on SCP-????
<Begin Log, ██/██/20██, 1900 hours>
Dr.Ambrose: Why don't you start with telling me what you saw?
Dr.██████: I saw all of him…at once. The walls, the floor even the Goddamn ceiling was dripping! We thought it was Safe for fuck's sake. This thing was something else, hell, I don't even know if it is a 'thing', it was tampering with our cameras from the very beggining, we just didn't know it until-
Dr.Ambrose: Until what, Doctor?
Dr.██████: Until it turned off the light switch…and I saw the infared. I can't believe they're actually trying to locate cause of death. There's nothing left of him, except for the bloodstains on the wall…they say that even his stomach acid was sprayed across the floor.
Dr.Ambrose: Professionally speaking, what would your next move be on the site?
Dr.██████: Doc, the only site I'm going to be on is the demolition site when this entire complex gets taken down. What can we learn from it? Nothing! Tear it town and take that room with with it! I was in that room and I didn't even know! Tear it down!

Closing Statement: Following Dr.██████'s breakdown, she was relived of her duty on A21 and placed on psychiatric leave. Due to prematurely ordering a close to the experimentation of SCP-????, she will face a hearing to decide her career options in ██ days. I reccomend Agent ███████ to take control of the situation and assess the threat level of SCP-????
